The  Committee  of Parents,  and Friends of Children and People of Special Needs of the Prefecture of Corinthia was founded on August 1990, in view of the 339/90 decision of the Court of First Instance of Corinthe. It is a Legal Person of Private Right, specifically charitable and  of non-profit character.

Efthimeio Centre in Corinth.

It was inaugurated in 1996, as a result of years of efforts.


On September 29th 1994 the foundations were placed and two years later, concretely on September 19th 1996, Efhimeio opened its doors as a  Recovery and Re-eabilitation Centre in the district of Ancient Harbor, in Ancient Corinth, making  one of the main objectives of the  Association a reality.

Efthimeio's children create unique items, using wood, glass and pottery.


 Aim of the Efthineio Centre is the benefit of services in children that suffer from cerebral palsy, kinetic problems and intellectual delay.

 In the Efthimeio Centre, rooms of speech-therapy, ergo-therapy and physiotherapy are underway, as well as classes for special education and programs of pre-professional training with workshops of textile, pottery, painting and manufacture of decorative items. It has a capacity of hospitality up to 150 children, distributed in the therapeutic program and the classes of pre- professional training.


The Efthimeio Centre is the unique center of Full recovery and Re-abilitation  in our prefecture and covers a wider region, including neighbouring perfuctures of Argolida and Arkadia, resulting to the increasing interest for new registrations.


The Efthimeio Centre is managed by an Administrative Board of five members, elected by the General Assembly of the Committee for a three-year term. The Center, from its beginnings, in order to satisfy the needs of Scientific, Administrative and Auxiliary Personnel, empoyed 27 individuals, completely educated and aimed to provide the best possible services to the children with special needs (PWSN).
